I’ve always thought of gardens as a kind of visual music. An orchestra of color, where the brilliant late-summer blooms play the coda, a spectacular farewell to the season.
In this live Zoom art class, we'll take inspiration from the warmth and beauty of the garden's late summer flowers and translate them into layered, abstract paintings that celebrate texture, shape, and their beautiful blooms.
Together, we'll translate all this beauty into an abstract painting using an inspired color palette, encouraging time to slow down so we can savor the fleeting beauty of summer.
Techniques taught:
Color mixing to create a beautiful color palette
Create a series of thumbnails to use as a guide for your abstract painting -- you're encouraged to use a photograph from your garden, park, or landscape you've visited for inspiration.
