Winter Botanicals

Winter Botanicals - Floral Expressions Through Ink & Watercolor

I’m so excited about this class—it’s all about capturing the quiet beauty of winter through ink or watercolor. We’ll begin by observing the beauty of our subject through simple and elegant contour drawings, keeping things loose and expressive as we sketch winter botanicals like bare branches, seedpods, and winter blooms. Then, we’ll explore the softer side of the season with florals, letting the frosty colors of winter flow and bloom and embracing the contrast of dark lines against winter’s stillness.

It’s about celebrating what’s here now while looking forward to the color and life that’s just beneath the frozen earth, waiting for spring. I’d love for you to join me!
